meet our animals

Every animal here has a personality. Some are leaders. Some are comedians. Some prefer quiet corners. Together, they make the farm feel alive.

Life at Humberstone Ranch

Clementine is our lone wolf. The smallest of all our goats, don't let her size fool you.  She can often be found trying to boss around the Katadhin sheep, who tower over her.

Mini Fainting Goat

Clementine

Twin sister to Clementine, Valentine is the gentlest of all of our goats. She's also the only one who likes being picked up. If you want a picture holding a goat, it's Valentine you want to meet.

Oscar’s brother from another mother, Theodore can be spotted by the fact that he has one horn several inches shorter than the other. He broke it on Oscar's head while playing.

Mini Nigerian

Theodore

It's Oscar's bright blue eye's that you spot first. He never hesitates to insert himself into the action. You can often find him play fighting with  Twiggy and Theodore.

Oscar

Twiggy brings quick feet and curious eyes to the pasture. Always alert, always moving, she’s often the first to notice when something interesting is happening.

Strong and fully capable of climbing the ranks of the herd, Ruby simply chooses not to. While others sort out hierarchy, she does her own thing. And her thing usually involves eating.

nigerian

Ruby

Syd’s daughter and Ruby’s twin, Opal holds the unofficial title of second-in-command. She prefers staying close to familiar territory and has a talent for finding snacks wherever they may be hiding. If something looks edible, Opal considers it an invitation.

Opal

Syd is the true alpha of the paddock. Mother to Opal, Twiggy, and Ruby, she runs her corner of the farm with sharp awareness and fearless energy. She keeps order among the herd and once stood her ground against wild geese without hesitation. No one questions who’s in charge.

Our largest goat, no one knows exactly how old Eddie is. He can be wonderfully sweet or mildly cranky depending on the day, but one thing is certain: when you’re the biggest, you usually get your way.

Clarice brings a gentle presence as she eats carrots from your hand. She’s happiest when the pasture feels peaceful and she’s alongside Hannibal.

Hannibal carries himself with quiet steadiness. He prefers calm observation over chaos and rarely rushes into anything.

Not as brave as Teddy...yet. Bear likes to make sure he's never too far from the group.

Bear

There is nothing Teddy likes doing more than eating clover. Shy, he's coming into his own and slowly walking up to get pets in between mouthfuls.

Betty’s steady nature makes her easy to admire. She brings balance to the herd and moves with quiet confidence. She hangs back when guests come.

Betty

Tina prefers a slower pace. She watches carefully, considers her surroundings, and keeps a calm distance from unnecessary commotion. As a heifer, Tina has never given birth but she’d make a great mom. When a calf was born on our ranch, it was Tina who stepped up as Auntie - grooming the calf and keeping a watchful eye.

Tina

With sweeping horns and confident posture, Dolly commands attention without saying a word. As the largest cow, she is also the alpha. She moves through the pasture like she knows she’s impressive — because she is. When visitors have food, she’s the first to eat.

Still quite young at two years old, Lola is equal parts affectionate and spunky. She often won't stop eating to come over and greet you but loves attention if you come up to her. .

Lola

At four years old, Pickles is calm, photogenic, and wonderfully patient. He enjoys back scratches and standing quietly beside guests for those peaceful farm moments.

All gobble, zero bite. Oliver is a two year old heritage turkey. He spends 12 hours a day, 365 days a year staring at his reflection. He'll make sure you see him in all his feathery glory.

Oliver

Turkey

The smallest of our geese, she hangs back until the coast is clear.

Sophie

Bridgette prefers sticking close to the group and keeping things orderly. When new people arrive at the Ranch, she's right behind Eric to meet them.

Bridgette

Eric is watchful and steady, moving with purpose across the pasture. If he's not following Mike's every move, he is guarding the ladies.

Tiny but bold, Mary Kate carries herself with surprising confidence.

Netherland Dwarf

Mary Kate

Absolutely the sweetest. Loves to nuzzle your neck. Came to us as a “girl” from the same farmer who told us Kody was a girl. Had a hard time bonding with the other rabbits when he arrived but met his one true love when Mary Kate arrived.

Holland Lop

Rob

Rules with an iron fist. Has no patience for anyone who isn’t Louis. Barely tolerates her sister Hudson.

Flemish Giant

Caroline

Large, gentle, and impressively calm, Big Louis prefers quiet company and soft attention.

French Lop

Rabbits

When she’s sick of Caroline’s antics, she leaves and hangs out with the other animals. Nothing in our garden is safe from her nibbles.
